Nanny Blue
Full flavour goat milk blue cheese with a texture that gets soft and creamy as it ripens.
Note that for the cut pieces, moulds will grow on the cut surface as the cheese ages. This is normal and perfectly safe to eat.
There is a goat playing a banjo on the Nanny Blue label because we seem to have music and cheese on our brains. Who remembers the ‘Mamy Blue’ song of the 70’s?
This cheese is made in the same vein as Blue Rhapsody, it just has the added wow factor of the goats milk. Plenty of people at the markets have declared they don’t like goats or blue cheese yet after a taste this has been the cheese they take home.
Like Blue Rhapsody, Nanny Blue collected a 2019 silver medal at the NZCA cheese awards.
